Hi Folks--I am going to try to be on the call today for the first half hour to hear from Heather. Any updates on what is needed for the poster for SG Week on our CCAI Projects? Can someone take notes? I will be happy to do this next time.
Comment by Pam Rubinoff on August 11, 2010 at 9:28am
I will try to join in. I have another call a bit earlier. Things here are hopping though. A few upcoming things: 1) HI and RI are voluntarily initiating discussions on methods for completing a SLR vulnerability mapping in respective states, in hopes of putting heads together across the network to accomplish similar goals for CCAI. Any examples from the network on this mapping would be welcome for next week. Sami Grimes our liaison to the National office was quite intrigued by this idea of voluntary coordination across states to brainstorm and not recreate the wheel; 2) NOAA North Atlantic Regional Team climate literacy trainings are happening in the NE. Last week NH, this week MA, and many more in the next month, where SG folks are co-facilitating events. 3) NOAA CSC and partners (URI, Tetra Tech) will be completing a 5 day adaptation training modules. There have been dry runs in HI (w/HISG there) and the first "real" training will take place in RI for NE (ME-NJ) Oct 18-22. Audience is state managers, but some SG folks will be there too (including me and maybe Esperanza??? But it conflicts with SG week).

hope to talk later, and if not, please send some notes to highlight discussion, decisions, and next steps.

I've just sent the call in info around to the chairs via regular e-mail - that way Maria will have it as well.

I also have a (non-toll free) conference calling account that we can use.
Comment by Esperanza Stancioff on August 10, 2010 at 9:12am
I don't recall us setting up a call in number but if folks can make it tomorrow that would be great. Anyone have a line we can use on short notice? I am in meetings today but might be able to get a call in line from university that each would call into--not toll free however. Let me know.

Hi all,
I have a call tomorrow on my calendar for 2 pm. Did someone get a number for that? Missed the last call so I hope it wasn't supposed to be me.
Also, tomorrow Esperanza, Mike, and I would like to invite Maria Frostic, an instructional designer with COMET who is working with Jim Hurley on the Coastal Climate Wiki/Sea Grant Climate Extension training course. They would like to include some regionally and topically diverse case studies as part of the training course, and would like the Regional Chairs' help with choosing those studies.
Thanks,
Jess

Thanks, Chris! I saw the letter and it looks good - I think $200 is pretty reasonable considering our other options. I have had mixed success with Google Groups, myself - it's not nearly as capable of fostering discussion and such. I also have found it to be buggy in the past. Mike's idea about asking the FTs to chip in is good as well - for all the times that I hear people mention climate as an issue that cuts across all four FTs, it seems a reasonable request to me.

Hi all, I sent out draft to Rob and Vicky. They will float it to SCCD and will probably join us on the request. I like Mike's idea about requesting funds from a focus area if national doesn't want to help (but I hope they will).
