Article from Climatic Change proposing an architecture for government adaptation policies, including stakeholder involvement, the role of climate information, decision-making strategies, and implementing policies. • ICLEI Oceania Adaptation Toolkit: Produced by the ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability - Oceania Regional Secretariat, this is a guidebook with step by step tools for adaptation assessment (including a planning workshop template, an adaptive management scoping worksheet, conceptual modeling exercises, and a barriers worksheet). It was developed in Australia, but the tools and documents are very general and can be adapted for your local needs.

Coastal Climate Adaptation:

• USAID released Adapting to Coastal Climate Change: A Guidebook for Development Planners. It reviews climate concerns and adaptation options in coastal areas to help practitioners and development partners to understand coastal climate change impacts in the developing world and adaptation options. Its lessons and processes can be applied to work in the developed world; Pam Rubinoff says it "can help at local to national scales in assessing vulnerability to climate change and variability, developing and implementing adaptation options, and integrating options into programs and development plans. This Guidebook—and its practitioner briefs on 17 coastal adaptation measures and strategies—can help in that task. "
• The Coastal Services Center Coastal Climate Adaptation Portal is a site with basic climate information aimed at outreach and provides a forum for state and local officials to get in touch with others on climate change issues. You can join a forum to post resources and to exchange messages with other portal members.
